New me - additional thought
Could it just be that this weight is my body's happy weight? I have always been padded (I'm not even considered chubby) and have never been lighter than this after puberty.

Just curious. Have you ever tried strength training? That might help tone things up a bit.
If it's any consolation, I also haven't lost weight. I haven't been eating the best, though.
I haven't really, besides some crunches, push-ups and lunges to help strengthen my muscles enough for running. Problem is that there's a small layerr of fat there and I heard you can't burn that with just strength training.
I want to avoid my muscles getting bigger with the layer still there, since it will make me appear bigger. I'm really short (5'2"), so you'll notice those differences pretty fast on my frame.
I know what you mean. In the past, I have had good luck with upper body strength training. I'm not talking about bodybuilding-type training. It's just another way to burn some calories. Of course, I'm not doing much of that right now, either! Maybe I should :)
I did this program last summer (http://www.stumptuous.com/cms/displayarticle.php?aid=135) for about 2 months. I combined that with some light aerobic exercise on the elliptical trainer and I completely changed the shape of my body. I didn't lose a pound, but I lost inches and everything was tighter and firmer. I couldn't believe it - it was the best I ever looked or felt and I didn't have to kill myself to achieve it. Unfortunately when grad school got stressful, I stopped doing that and started eating instead, so now I'm back to where I started. Ah well, the journey continues ;).
